Goulburn Historic Tour and Picnic - 11 January 2026

Picnic in the Rotunda in Belmore Park
Yesterday was 35 degrees... today freezing!

Craig and Susan took us on a tour of historic and significant sites in and around Goulburn. There were 10 sites to visit before we would be taken to our picnic site.

The only trouble was we had to interpret cryptic and poetic clues to work out where we were going.

Each stop also had some questions to answer and photos to take.

Each car had the locations in different order with only the last location being common… so we could all meet and then go to the picnic… not everyone made the last stop with everyone else.

A big thank you to Susan and Craig – a very enjoyable day, and lots to learn about Goulburn!

Prizes were given for finding all 10 sites and answering the question.

Further prizes for the best picnic.

Trackside Torque at One Raceway - 24 August 2025

Trackside Torque

It was a bit chilly at 7am when a bunch of intrepid Street Torquers gathered at the entrance to One Raceway.

Jobs were soon handed out. Traffic direction at the main gate, exhibitors to the skid pan and spectators to the main car park. The guys from the Cystic Fibrosis charity manned the skin pan gate while Street Torquers handed out the raffle tickets. The rest of us prepared to marshal the exhibitors. Our vehicles, of course, took pride of place at the front.

The vendors soon arrived and set up. We had coffee, Quick Bites, Mini Donuts and an Ice Cream van. Coffee was soon flowing fast for our volunteers.

Soon we had a steady flow of exhibitors and the skid pan started to fill fast.

We ended up with an eclectic collection of vehicles, mainly cars with a few trucks on bikes. The Canberra BMW Club came in force. We ended up with about 170 vehicles on display.

The food outlets were soon doing a roaring trade.

At about 11:30 the first enthusiasts headed on to the track for the track experience.

A big shout out to all of our volunteers and to our organiser. The day was a great success and we had great feedback from the participants and from One Raceway.

Also, a big thanks to our sponsors Auto One, One Raceway and our food vendors.

Check out the photos on Facebook. Thanks to Anthony Barnes Photography for the photos.

Royal Hotel Dalton - 17 August 2025

Royal Hotel Dalton

This was not an ordinary drive to an exotic location. No, we had to do some work along the way.
Our tour organiser, Susan, turned our drive into an observation run.

We had to take photos of 6 ‘things’ along the way as well as answer some trivia questions.

Sharon prepared an itinerary and a Whatsapp group. The questions, answers to the trivia questions, and as links to the menu were on the itinerary.

The Whatsapp group was used to record our photographic answers.

A great group of more than 20 people met at the Bluebird Café. After much confusion with Whatsapp 10 cars set off for Dalton.

A stops was planned for a photo in front of the Holden Heritage Mural in Gunning, but alas too many other cars were parked in the way (Philistines!).

So on to Dalton we went.

When we arrived we saw a bunch of Rolls Royces parked out front – the Canberra RR Club shared our idea to visit the Pub.

Susan organised prizes for the observation efforts, and the winner was Erin. Her photos are below.
